Here is the interior as it should always should have been. BLACK. I've re-coloured it from the insipid brown shades it was when I got the car as well as installing a Sansui stereo head unit and a leather steering wheel...after modifying them to fit first. The carpet across the dash was cut from the inside area behind the seats after the installation of the 10" sub, speakers and amplifier.

Here you can see the seats after I had them recovered. The originals were done in a 2 tone brown cloth which had gone rather tatty over the years so after completing the colour change on the rest of the interior I then turned my attention to the seats. After much thought and discussion about what would look right I chose to have the seats done in a cloth fabric in the grey and black tones you see here. Before I had the grey inserts sewn in I took the two head rest pieces to have the word Corvette embroidered in a metallic blue thread. I think the finished results were worth it.

While this is not the best pic of my stereo installation it should give you some idea as to what I've done to fit the 10"sub and the Italian made BRIO 400 watt 4 channel amplifier in the space behind the seats. The entire structure is constructed from 18mm craftwood and is covered both in part by the existing carpet (which I dyed black) and new speaker box carpet. The whole set-up was designed to fit in without any fasteners at all. The speakers have their own separate ported boxes and have metal angle brackets holding them to the main sub enclosure. It took my son and I a week to design and build it all and without his nimbleness it would have been much harder for me to complete the installation. All power cables are 6mm and has an in-line relay fitted rather than a simple fuse. Now if only I can find an ABBA song with plenty of base!
