Click on pics for larger view Day One..."Well it shouldn't take too long" T/A my way. Every seam and join was welded
and filed smooth. All these nice new parts, but where do they go? It's almost a shame to get these dirty. Well I had to do something with them! First there was one and now there are two. Strut rods that is. There's not much room under here!

![]() Starting with what you see in the pic on the upper left and finishing up with this you see above was not an easy task. While there was nothing specifically wrong under the rear at the time I began this task, I was soon to discover a need to expand on what should have been a simple rebuild of the suspension as it originally was meant to be. Forced to improvise as well as improve, I was also compelled to exert my own personal touch (quaintly referred to as being "anal retentive" by someone who shall remain nameless)in an effort to achieve the results you see on this page. ![]() I would hate to try and even guess at the amount of hours I spent getting these trailing arms to this stage! Each arm was individually cleaned of all the production line welding dags and then seam welded numerous times in an effort to create a stronger and better looking TA than ever rolled down a 70s production line. While I was at it I also relocated the hand brake cable mount to the top of the TAs just in case I ever wanted to fit larger wheels and tyres. Now there's a thought! ![]() |
