My pit crew at the LA Street race. left to right: pit muffin, me, Frank, Kevin, Manny, other pit muffin. It's amazing how easy it is to get pit muffins when (a) they are paid to be there and be friendly and (b) you win the race. Actually, we were 1st in class and third overall out of over 30 cars. Pretty good considering there were two classes that were theoretically faster than mine. You know, I spent all this money for crew shirts. You'd think the guys could at least tuck them in (me too.) Well, it was late and they did work hard.

The paddock was pretty crowded at the street race, so we shared space with some of my my friends and competitors. Doug's NSX is one of the quickest in the country. Supercharger, carbon bodywork, wings, etc. Check out The NSX Files/Pulp Racing for more on this car. Wayne's 944 turbo runs at about 20 psi of boost and gets quicker each race. Sean's Vette (under the cover) is an ex-World Challenge car that he just bought and is getting sorted.

Look, trophies! We did really well at this race. For once, I had good pit strategy and made up spots in the pits. I also brought enough extra bodywork with me so that I didn't feel the need to worry about the concrete barriers on the street circuit. Others were a little more conservative. Because of this, I found I could stick my nose in and get a clean pass when the same pass would have been contested on other tracks. There were about 15,000 spectators around the LA Coluseum watching us. There were also stock car, truck, and vintage Shelby Cobra/Mustang races. Click here to learn more about PRO Racing. You can also follow the links on the PRO-Racing site to read summaries of each race this season, which you should do, because I did extremely well and want to brag.
