2001 Torch Red / Modified Red Z06

This 2001 Torch Red Z06 Beauty is my second corvette. My first corvette was a 1998 Sebring Silver Coupe. The Z06 is an exceptional car in all respects. I have enjoyed owning this car and my major fun comes from modding and personalizing it. Here is a list of my current mods with a few more pictures.

Recently, I added the flush tail-light kit. I like the look but it is definately not for everyone!!!
I have done a major modification on the car this winter. I totally redid the engine bay, interior and added some exterior modifications.
I redid the engine bay with a combination of Autobuff's and Kewl engine pieces. I kept with the red/black color combination.

I installed an custom interior from Ken King at Vette Essentials. The mods included new seats, steering wheel, shift knob, brake handle and console cover. This is the most high quality leather I have ever seen. Ken is great to work with. I also added black roadster bars behind the seats for a racing look. I also ordered seat pouches from Ken that are intended to attach to the front of the seats. I decided they would look good over each of the roadster bars for a different look.
For the exterior, I wanted something different which required a combination of pieces. I added a Caravaggio spoiler to the rear for a different look. This was a piece designed by John Cafaro(chief designer of the C5). I went with an ACI front lip spoiler and to finish the look. I went with a Motor City Mold carbon fiber hood. The fit and finish on all the products was outstanding. The painting was completed by a new performance shop known for restorations of muscle cars in Vilonia, AR. The shop is BPR and the owner is Bryan Blocker. They are GREAT!
The underside of the hood is gorgeous! The carbon fiber is clear-coated and just jumps out when the hood is opened. I also has a very nice screen which is functional for removing warm air and acts as a vent at high speed to prevent front end lift. The screen matches all the screens I already have on my Z.
One of the things that I really wanted was for the car to flow visually from front to back, inside and out and for it to be appealing to the eye. I have maintained the red and black theme throughout. I really love the new look and am really proud of the car.
A few fall pictures 2004.
Thanks for stopping by and check back frequently - I am constantly looking for a project to do!!!
