62 Vette in Honduras Maroon w/ Fawn Interior & Tan cloth top. Purchased 9/99. Has 350 SB Chevy with Muncie 4 speed, dual AFB carbs, headers, etc. Wheels are 15" x 6" American Racing Torque Thrust "D" with 235/60 BFG Goodrich T/A radials rear, and 215/60 in front. Have drag raced it once with a time of 14.11 @ 102 MPH with terrible wheel hop through 1st and 2nd gears (had to back off each gear in order to stop the hop from tearing up the rear). Finally fixed the wheel hop, but the track won't let me back on (need a hardtop, no convertibles allowed anymore).
Wife's Studebaker Avanti towing our 1979 Glastron/Carlson CV-23. Avanti sold 5 years ago (after 17 years of daily driving by my wife) to a good friend's son. The friend has passed away, and left a 54 Studebaker to his son as well. Sold boat April/02 (purchased new in July 78). Both have SB Chevy motors (boat is twin turbocharged & tops out @ 72).
66 Vette Nassau Blue w/ Bright Blue interior & white top. 327 CI/350 HP w/ 4 speed Muncie. Completely stock except for American Racing Torque Thrust "D" wheels (yes, same as on the 62). No options other than Power Antenna w/ radio. Bought a used hard top later that was perfect (same color in perfect shape). Purchased in 69 and sold in early 73 (for $2500). I sure wish I had kept that Vette!
70 Vette Coupe in Silver Metalic Blue (non-stock color) with Blue Deluxe interior. The T-Tops were vinyl covered by original owner which protected them during handling/storage, and looked good to me. Never saw this done on any other T-Top. Original 350 CI/350 HP with 4 speed Muncie, and all the options, plus American Racing 200S wheels. Drove daily for 15 years from 1974 to 1989. Had over 247K miles when sold. Terrific Vette!
51 Chevy Stake Bed truck (on a 1975 Blazer Chassis)
1951 Chevy Stake Bed on 75 Blazer chassis stretched 10" plus it has the plow. Built in 85/86 & still have. Blazer was our snow plow vehicle, and body rusted off, so we did this with it. Has 400 CI SB Chevy with PS, PB, Tilt-tele wheel, lap/shoulder belts, & Full Time 4 wheel drive. 8 MPG on a good day!
1974 Camaro Z-28 in Metalic Forest Green w/ Gold stripes & Saddle interior. LT-1 350 SB Chevy (later a "built" 400 CI Chevy) w/ 400 Turbo trans. Purchased 1976 & sold 1980. Great car except rust required a paint job every 2 years. Was orginally white with black stripes. The dark Forest metalic green is a great Mopar color.
63 Jaguar XKE w/ Steel Blue exterior (right photo shows truer color), red interior, & Black cloth top. Had the 265HP 3.8 liter twin overhead cam 6. Purchased in 66 and sold in 69 (traded it in on the 66 Vette - see above). Great performance vehicle. Did some drag racing, Gymkana, etc. racing. Came away with several trophies, but the Prince of Darkness always loomed (Lucas Electrics), plus 2 clutch changes (not easy - engine/trans comes out as an assembly). Also had a yellow 66 XKE Roadster later in 1973/74 but it burned in a Feb. 74 garage fire (along with our 23 T Altered roadster drag racer).
1960 MGA light Blue roadster. Had for 6 months in Key West. Slow but good handling (would get beat by VW bugs!). Went through a hurricane, and drove around the island later that evening (to survey the damage). Drove through what turned out to be saltwater up to my waist (while sitting in the MGA), motorboating along. Eventually it stalled, pushed it up a slight slope and went on. A month or so later, the brakes, exhaust system, & starter all rusted out (not at same time, but close enough). Good thing the floors were made out of wood.
87 Corvette Z-52 purchased in Sept. 91. Used as a daily driver during the "nice" months, until 2001. Now just a great touring Vette, basically stock with less than 100K miles. Great ride and handling!
55 Chrysler Convertible in Light Blue. Hemi engine with 2 speed automatic (shifted on the dash). One of my first cars, and great to have in Key West in 63 & 64. Drove it all over the east coast and to Chicago. Sold in 65. And no, not all of the oil spots on the asphalt were not from this car! Just some of them.
